WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

ADEARA RECOVERY CENTRE - More Than a Fad Thrift Store (Southside Location)

OVERVIEW

Adeara is an accredited, long-term Christian addiction recovery centre that accepts women and their dependent children. Adeara is passionate about helping vulnerable women recover from addiction and rebuild their lives. Our aim is to equip and empower women on their journey to create lasting change.

More Than a Fad is a thrift store in Edmonton raising funds for women in addiction recovery. All profits generated by the store directly support Adeara's addiction recovery programming.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the warehouse bay of the More Than A Fad – Southside location. This includes sorting incoming donations, managing the dispatching of items to other store locations, as well as the coordination of pick-ups and deliveries. The Warehouse Supervisor will work in a team atmosphere in collaboration with other staff and volunteers. The staff member is expected to complete his/her responsibilities in a manner that is appropriate and in agreement with the Mission, Vision, and policies established by More Than a Fad Thrift Store.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal – Store Manager, Floor Supervisor, and Volunteers
  • External – Donors, Customers, Adeara Residents and staff

OPERATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehouse Management

  • Manage and oversee the scheduling of donation pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Coordinate with Store Managers to arrange for product distribution to all three stores, as needed.
  • Drive the MTAF truck for deliveries and picks ups and/or arrange for drivers.
  • Accept and sort donations; in collaboration with other MTAF staff enforce quality control of items.
  • Keep the warehouse well organized and clean, ensuring products are stocked correctly and safely.
  • Maintain an organized inventory system for the Warehouse; monitor space available for new donations.
  • Train and oversee staff and volunteers who are working in the Warehouse area
  • Oversee backdoor issues such as, donations that were left after hours and the upkeep of the dumpster. The Warehouse Supervisor will foster good relationships with donors as an ambassador of the organization.

General Maintenance

  • Dispose of trash/cardboard/recycle (schedule pick-ups)
  • Snow/ice removal/maintain cleanliness and safety of the front and back of store (daily)
  • Coordinate the maintenance and fueling of the MTAF vehicle
  • Complete odd handyman jobs, as required.

Customer Service/Operational Support

  • Communicate courteously with shoppers by telephone, face to face and email, providing excellent customer service.
  • Assist, where necessary, with the daily operation of the store.
  • Comply with all legislative and company policies and procedures adhering to Health and Safety, Operations, and Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada 
  • A Grade 12 education with 2-5 years of demonstrated supervisory retail experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience driving results, motivating and directing others, and managing and measuring work/systems.
  • Superior process and time management skills, Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and experience working with a diverse population are essential.
  • Computer literate with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, email, internet.
  • Physical fit and able to lift 50lbs
  • Have a class 5 drivers license

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 28 per week

Salary: $17.00-$18.50 per hour
