Meet Martie!
Martie has been volunteering at More Than a Fad for ONE YEAR this month!
She has been a consistent team player, eager to serve wherever is needed.
When we asked Martie why she volunteers at MTAF, here is what she had to say:
“I like how all proceeds go to support Adeara Recovery. It is indeed a meaningful cause that I feel good about supporting. I also enjoy the social component of volunteering at More Than a Fad, interacting with staff and fellow volunteers. This is the first time that I have worked in a retail environment and as such find this work interesting.
The managers at More Than a Fad are skilled at building a sense of community among staff and volunteers. Individual and group accomplishments are regularly celebrated. Managers express their gratitude for volunteer services regularly. A thirty percent discount on in-store merchandise is yet another way they express their gratitude.
Although I had worked in the Addiction and Mental Health field for over thirty years, I was not aware that Adeara was and is a residential addiction treatment program for both women and their children. I also was not aware of the diversity of programming and extended length of treatment support.”
Are you eager to meet new people and form meaningful connections? Do you want to give back to the community and support women and children? Join our volunteer team!
