There’s more to this store than thrifting. All profits generated by our thrift store go directly towards supporting Adeara Recovery Centre, an accredited addiction recovery centre for women in Edmonton. When you shop at More Than a Fad, you help Adeara:
- Provide safe shelter for women in long-term addiction recovery. Those who have come from a background of houselessness, incarceration, or a general absence of security can rely on a secure home for themselves and their young children at Adeara.
- Guide women through a recovery program that offers rounded healing from addiction: biologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually.
- Rebuild families through helping women regain custody of their children and allowing children to live in the centre with their mothers.
Quick Thrifting Stats
- The store is mostly run by volunteers! While a small staff team supports the store, we rely on volunteers to keep our store shelves stocked. We have almost 100 volunteers with over 6,400 volunteer hours logged in the past year.
- Our volunteers put out over 250 new items a day, including women’s clothing, home and decor items, furniture, and more.
- Our most popular items are women’s clothing, shoes and accessories, books and games, kitchenware, furniture, and home decor.
- We intake items from donors daily to keep our inventory fresh.
