More Than a Fad Thrift Store continues to put out great thrifting finds because of you! Be a part of the sustainability movement and give your pre-loved items to our store on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 10AM and 2PM.


Have furniture to donate? Request a pick-up by calling the store or sending us an email! Please note we only do pick-ups for furniture at this time.

Where to Bring Donations

Before you drop off your items, please check our handy list below of what donations we do and do not accept. Please bring all donations to the back door of 6936 68 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6B 3C5 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10AM–2PM.

Please do not leave your items outside our donation bay when donation hours are closed. We cannot use them if they have been left outside.

We do not accept anything that is broken, soiled, stained or torn. Must be in great working condition.

Before You Donate!

First and foremost, please see our donation lists below (scroll down) and make sure you are only donating items accepted by More Than a Fad.

✓  Please wash your clothing before donating it! No pet hair, dirty garments, etc. We do not have the means to wash donated clothes in our warehouse.

✓  Please pre-sort your items.

Clothing and Accessories

  • Clothing (all ages, good condition)
  • New underwear, socks, and undergarments
  • Shoes, hats, accessories, jewelry, luggage, briefcases


  • Books, CDs, Vinyl, DVDs, Video games
  • Toys, board games, complete puzzles


  • New desktop computers and laptops with proper cords
  • Working electronics
  • Cords: HDMI, USB, auxiliary, surge protectors, 3-prong extension cords


  • Tables, chairs, coffee tables, end tables, dressers, wardrobes
  • Sofas, love-seats, couches
  • Bed frames and headboards
  • Curtains
  • Office chairs
  • Bath chairs

Home and Office

  • Home office and school supplies
  • Kitchenware and small appliances
  • Glassware
  • Garden materials
  • Home decor
  • Antiques and collectibles


  • Sports equipment and outdoor goods
  • Sports equipment (golf clubs, ski boots, skates, etc.)
  • Toboggans
  • Craft supplies
  • Linens, towels, fabric
  • Personal hygiene and makeup (new, unopened box/package)

We Do Not Accept

Clothing and Accessories

  • Offensive, dirty, soiled, stained, ripped, or faded clothing
  • Used underwear, socks; worn or dirty shoes or hats
  • Company-branded clothing and promotional materials


  • Dictionaries, encyclopedias, cassettes, VHSs
  • Large toys (15” x 15” or bigger)


  • Computer software, TVs, printers, printer cartridges
  • Outdated tech: speakers, flip phones, routers, remotes, house phones
  • Cords: Ethernet, chargers, wires, 2 prong extension cords, old phone chargers, other outdated cords


  • Broken, partially assembled furniture, pieces of furniture
  • Valances or entertainment units
  • Blinds, ceiling fans, light fixtures (unless antique)
  • Cribs, playpens, exersaucers, bassinets, highchairs, booster seats, potties
  • Large office furniture (cubicles, desks, filing cabinets)
  • Mattresses, hide-a-beds, pet beds
  • Pianos, organs

Sports and Outdoor Items

  • Expired helmets, car seats, strollers (check CSA sticker)
  • Equipment (electrical and stationary): treadmills, exercise bikes, weights
  • Golf bag caddy
  • Skis (unless antique)


  • Company-branded items (wine glasses with logos, company t-shirts, etc.)
  • Vehicle parts or accessories (car seat covers, tires, hubcaps, car parts, mats)
  • Building supplies (lumber, doors, windows, bricks, tiles, insulation, linoleum)
  • Plumbing (sinks, toilets); large kitchen appliances (e.g., stove)
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Unfinished crafts or unfinished up-cycled furniture projects
  • Fabric with stains or tears, used duvets or comforters, bed pillows
  • Cleaning supplies (unless sealed)
  • Biohazardous materials (motor oil, acids, paint, industrial cleaning products)
  • Opened packages of single-use products (eg., an opened box of diapers with half the diapers gone)
